Hello, recently, I asked about the UE Super.Fi 5 Pro, I was going to get them with the special discount in earphone solutions. I got about $210. But my parents didn't leave me to buy them for now. I think I should thank them, because maybe I will get something that goes more with me. So, I was considering in those times the UM2 and the Super.Fi. But I think the UM2 are so expensive without discount, and I think it doesn't go with the kind of music I hear. And recently I heard about the Shure's, I know this brand from always, but somehow I had in my mind an image that Shure had a weird sound signature but well, let me tell you to what I like to listen. (Someone told me I think)

I listen to rock, (all kinds of rock, I'm not considering metal though) jazz, pop and a bit of R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, metal and sometimes I even listen to classical music.

So, I think I prefer detail, and the build quality over the Super.Fi bass, (I'm not a basshead, I like bass, but it should be tight) But I'm concerned if the Shure E4C bass is sufficient. Right now, the headphones that I use are HD-497 (they sound decent, considering the price), and I power them with my NETMD (I have to EQ it to make the bass and trebles sound with more volume, they sound really weak) and Audigy LS in the computer. In the future, I'm considering, new portable source, amp and soundcard. The Waveterminal U24.

But with what I have now, do you think the bass will be sufficient? I mean that the bass will be better than the HD-497? I know the other things will be, but will I hear the bass kinda like I do right now with my HD-497?

So with what I told you also, do you think I should get the Super.Fi over the Shure's?

Thanks

Edit: If it helps, one of my favourite hometeather combos that I have heard are Rotel + Paradigm Studio or Bowers and Wilkins... It's the best that I have heard that I really love.

BTW: All the music that I hear, is ripped with Lame 3.90.3 Alt-Preset Standard VBR

If you're like me and take sound quality and detail over bass, then it is recommended to get the E4cs. I just ordered the E4's (the black ones) yesterday for $183 on djdeals.com with no tax and free shipping. I mainly listen to death metal, and I hope they fit the bill.

Yep, but maybe it will be good for music. That seriously, I doubt it. About the colours, well, I don't really care, it's more a plus, but still the Shure have a good colour, and as some said here, not really black.

If it truely is a gaming earphone then it will not be very good for music because of recessed mids.

EDIT, just looked on shure's website, here are the specs of the E4g:

Speaker Type: High-Definition Driver with Tuned Port
Sensitivity (at 1kHz): 109 dB SPL/mW
Impedance (at 1kHz): 29 Ohm
Cable Length: 1.42m (56 inches)
Net Weight: 31g (1.1 oz)
Input Connector: 3.5 mm (1/8") gold-plated stereo plug

Here are the specs for the E4c:

Speaker Type: High-Definition Driver with Tuned Port
Sensitivity (at 1kHz): 109 dB SPL/mW
Impedance (at 1kHz): 29 Ohm
Cable Length: 1.52m (60 inches)
Net Weight: 31g (1.1 oz)
Input Connector: 3.5 mm (1/8") gold-plated stereo plug

According to their specs, all that has changed is the cable length, which is 4 inches shorter than the E4c.

Yep, there is no difference in the sound. Just the color and the cable. Same headphones.
