I'm looking at building an HTPC, probably with an M-Audio 5.1 sound card. I want to hook my Klipsch 5.1 speakers up to it. However, I also want to hook them up to my Audigy 2, which will reside in my gaming box. I get very tired of swapping cables, so I'm wondering if I can find a mini-mini-mini cable (x3) and if this will allow me to have both sound cards hooked up to the one set of speakers.

First, will this work okay?

Second, where would I find a mini-mini-mini cable? I need something shielded, six feet long, and cheap.

No and no. Merging two sound outputs together in such a fashion is a big nono and will not work.

What you want to do is either route the output of one card into the input of the other (probably Audigy to M-Audio), or buy a dedicated mixer. There should be a lot of recommendations for mixers on Head-fi; use search to find em.
