Having missed out on a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card deal last week, I've decided to install a second SBLive! card i had lying around in an older computer until the next deal comes along. The reason I did this was to have one sound card dedicated for headphone (music playing) while the other one can drive my speakers (gaming, windows sounds, etc).

Installation was very easy. I just downloaded and installed the latest SBLive! driver pack from creative and it updated both cards. The SBMixer even allows you to switch between the two cards so you can customize sound settings for each card.

I've set the card driving the speakers to be the main card so all system sounds are all played by it. I've set winamp to use the headphone card exclusively so my music does not get interrupted by any annoying system sounds. I plug my headphone into the rear speaker out because it is much cleaner (noticeably less hiss) than the front speaker out.

I've tried to install independent KX drivers for the headphone card but cannot seem to get it to work. It would install for both cards if i run kxsetup. I tried manually installing for one but then could not get the KX mixer to launch. Thus, I've decided to remain with the creative drivers for max EAX compatibility. I really like the swap "rear and front outputs" feature that the KX drivers allowed. Anyone know if this is possible with the creative drivers?
