I am using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card and am so close to buying a good headphone set. I have a few questions though that hopefully someone with experience can answer for me.

1) Is the TBSC enough to drive just a pair of SR60s? SR225s?

2) Will using my sound card as a source make buying a good set of cans with an amp worth it? I listen primarly to Rock and some jazz, classical. I was considering either The Grado Amp + SR225 or the Headroom little amp + HD580 bundle they have over at headroom. Will the upgarde I'll be making over the SR60s even be noticable with a sound card source?

I wouldn't use a TBSC to drive headphones because the quality isn't great compared to modern cards. Get a better soundcard like emu 0404 for $99 or a chaintech av710 for $25 and a basic amp. As for headphones, get a used SR60 to hold you over until you can get a better headphone later.
