okay, i just got one in.. and well........ is it normal that when I play with the volume, I get static, also I thought that when your listening through the olt jack, you can not make it louder or softer, the volume is set... further more.. what the heck is the feedback switch? is this thing a waist of money, I have 2 JJ Electronic tubes in there and a Sylvania GB w/ Gold Pins 5751 in there, and although they haven't been fully burnt in, I have yet to be wowed... let me know.. thanks..

Some tubes will exhibit a subtle wiping sound when turning the volume knob. It shouldn't be a problem... just set it and forget it.

Your other problem sounds very strange. The volume level should *always* be adjustable whether you listen through the OTL jack or the HEADPHONE jack. Always leave the feedback switch in the top (OTL) position for best performance.

What headphones and source are you using with it?
