I'll share a few:

I took my first cruise last summer on the Crown Princess and I must say it changed my tune on cruising. Before that, I always poo-poo'd cruising for no real reason other than believeing being on a ship for 10 days would be boring. That was so very far from the truth. From the ports and excursions, to the bars/restaurants/casino/activities on board, the 10 days passed by quickly and enjoyably. We stopped at (4) ports - Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas, and Bermuda. Each port brought its own unique memory to my experience. Having a balcony room was a huge plus.

I just booked a trip to Las Vegas in August. It will be my 5th time there. Although not a high limit gambler, I love Las Vegas for its variety. I also like to venture out-of-town (the strip) to Sam's Town, Hoover Dam, simple drive in the desert, etc.

I went to St. Maarten in 2004 and am going back again this Thanksgiving. I enjoyed a true relaxing Caribbean vacation - walking on the beach with rum runner in hand, nighttime clubs / casino. It was just a terrific expereinece i can't wait to do again. I can only hope I stay away from the jewelry stores. I spent decent monies when I went in 2004 (and I spent more in St. Thomas on the cruise) as I could not believe how mucgh cheaper quality gold was versus the states.

Went to Germany with my g/f during x-mas of 2005. We stayed with her parents who have a house in a little town in south west germany. Beautiful country. The Christmas atmosphere was amazing. We went to x-mas markets and it snowed alot. Saw some castles and took a drive down the Rhine. The best part was that we stayed with her parents so we got a more intimate experience than if we had gone on tours and stayed in a hotel. Since they live pretty close to the French border, we took a 2 or 3 day trip to Paris on a tour. While it was tiring and I was insanely jetlagged, I loved Paris. So completely different from anything here in the states. We went to the Louvre and saw the Versaiiles palace. All amazing.

Nothing but the fondest memories of that trip and hope to go back as soon as possible.

One the biggest reasons why I travel is because of the food. So of course when I visited Japan, I was blown away by the amazing food and some great unusual dishes I had that you won’t find elsewhere. A killer trip well worth it,

Another interesting place was Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I was so impressed with the quality of the fruit. It changed my perception of fruit. Unfortunately that high quality fruit doesn’t exist here in the USA but I feel fortunate to have experienced it.

Maybe this was a crazy trip but a couple years ago I visited Chicago in January because it’s considered to be the worst time to visit due to the insane cold winter and that brutal wind chill factor.

You do need to dress like an astronaut due to the severe wind chill but seeing the massive frozen Lake Michigan was fantastic. I loved seeing the ice go deep far into the horizon!

And I was the only tourist on the beach since it was an unpopular time to visit.
