I've just ordered the Total Airhead headphone amp and I want to use it at home as well as on the road. Before I spring the (admittedly enormous sum of) $15 for an AC adapter I was wondering whether anyone had any experience whether using an AC adapter negatively impacts sound quality (in which case I will just forget about it).

Legoman, I bought my TA about 4 months ago.........and I had that question too because there was a lot of people who said that I could definetely improve the sound of the amp using a wall wart.......but on the other hand I was going to be able to get some hiss........ That's whay I called to Headroom, and Todd told me that there was NO difference at all (in sound) , the reason is that the amp comes with an Internal converter.......
A hint, I've been using mine with Nimh rechargeable batts!!!! and it performs as lon as with alkaline batts!!!!! I'm using 1600 Mah batts.
