Tivoli radio - how to eliminate static?

I am the proud owner of a Tivoli Model 2 radio which I am using in my office. The FM reception is very good. The sound is good too.

When I tune to local stations with strong signals I am picking up static from my 19" computer monitor. When I turn the monitor off it goes away. Is there any way to eliminate this static? Please don't suggest I move the radio away from the monitor, because that's where I want/need the radio to be in my cubicle. Are there any devices available to attach to the PC to get rid of this static?

Sorry Johnny, but the only real solution to your problem in all probability is going to be to MOVE the radio.

Yeah, that's a problem with any radio, really -- computer monitors suck for radio reception

The only other solution (not a pretty one, though) is to put a few layers of aluminum foil on the side of the monitor that is closest to the Tivoli. I've tried that before and it worked pretty well.

P.S. How do you like the Tivoli 2? My better half has one and I love it -- I asked for one for Xmas

Actually something more like a mu-metal shield might work but mu-metal is expensive and hard to find.

Actually, lining the inside of the Tivoli case around the tuner's front end and around the audio amp might do the trick. (with mu-metal)

This would probably also degrade the reception of the tuner, especially for highly directional stations (those relatively nearby). One of the nice things about the Tivoli radio is that you don't really need an external antenna for great reception.

The best solution, IMO, is the one johnnylexus doesn't want to hear. Move the radio away from the monitor.

Actually, the BEST solution would be for him to replace that CRT with a flat-panel
