Hi guys,

I'm still super new to this stuff and like everything else, you get a taste of something and you want more.
I'm out of USB ports on the back of my iMac (yes i know I can get a USB hub, but I already have enough clutter) and would like to use an open thunderbolt port.
Is this possible with a thunderbolt to USB cable and the FiiO E10K?
I really don't want to break the bank on this upgrade.

Thanks guys!

Hmm - that's a new one! I have no idea - what I can tell you is that the E10K is powered from the USB port. So, the USB port it is connected to must supply that power. Does the Lightning to USB cable do that? In addition, the USB port the E10K sees must be a "USB-host" port. Finally, the iMac must be able to send digital audio out the Lightning cable.

If it were me, I would dedicate a USB port for the E10K, and use the USB hub for whatever else you have connected. Or, see if one of your simpler USB devices cab be run off the Lightning-to-USB cable.
