I am subscribed to a thread that was started by someone that has blocked me. I have blocked him as well so we no longer have any interactions. The problem is that it is a very large topic that is very active but it is invisible to me. It doesn’t show up in the lists of topics in the forums nor does it show in my list of watched topics even though I get alerts to it. Is there a way to make it easier to get to the topic other than hunting down old notifications or searching for something that I know was mentioned in the thread? Thanks.

Head-Fi's ignore function is universal in hiding content posted by those you've chosen to ignore, so it will also include removing from sight any threads started by those people. On alternative you could try is bookmarking a post in the thread, but the simplest solution if you want to continue taking part in the thread regularly, or if you would like to receive alerts and notifications, is to remove that person from your ignore list.

I do get alerts and I am subscribed to the content. I really don't want to unblock him, he’s the only person here that is worth blocking lol. I guess I’m asking that this behavior of hiding threads be changed. I still have access to the thread, can comment in it and get alerts. I just can’t get back to it easily. It seems like a weird effect especially since in the thread I can see that he has posted I just don’t see the post. So why hide the entire topic? If the blocking feature is ever looked in to again for tweaking I vote to let us see the threads.

i also would like to see threads started by blocked people. maybe if there was an option to "block threads started by user" when blocking someone? I have a followed thread started by a blocked user, and if there is no activity for a while, i wont get an alert when there is new postings. So the only way I see that thread is if it is the most recent thread in a forum, so it shows up on the right column at /forums/

Give this a try. If you're in the thread list for any sub-forum - for example Headphones (full-size) - and the thread list has a thread started by someone you're ignoring, you should have a link at the bottom of the thread list that says "Show ignored content." When clicked, it will temporarily un-hide any threads started by ignored users. These threads will revert to hidden if/when the page is reloaded.

This is also applicable on the "Watched threads" page.
