I'm over at caraudio forum researching for my car setup, which, by the way consists of the following componets:

Alpine IVA-W200
Zapco 360.4
Focal Polyglass 6.5in Componet
Soundstream 900w RMS 1ohm stable
Cerwin Vega Vmax 12.2 @ 1ohm

Anyway I stumbled into a thread about hearing loss as a result of the loud SPL's (often 140db+) day to day in the car. The OP was simply asking if anyone had hearing damage. About a third of the people in the thread have any odea what they are talking about. The other two thirds either subtly make fun of him or INSIST that it is impossible to get hearing damage from car audio. Another good portion says they don't have hearing damage, but likely doesn't know it. Isn't this just scary?

Doesn't scare me too much, it's those idiots who will be stone deaf tout suite!

I do sometimes worry about little kids I see whose parents are carrying them around in these rolling boom boxes. It's not like the kid has any choice.

Don't these parents care that they're hurting their children?
