Well, I've been reading alot lately about the DT880, and how impressed people have been with them, and also have been listening to my DT990's more and my DT770-80's alot less since getting them about a month ago, so I was thinking of returning the DT770's and picking up some DT880's.

I'd have to sell my Go-Vibe as well, which shouldn't be too big of an issue, since I have a maxed out Pimeta on the way. Between the 770-80 and the Go-Vibe, I should be able to get the DT880's for zero out of pocket.

I figure the DT990's will do the rock duties, and the DT880's should cover everything else.

Should I do it?

Go for it. Its really more of an upgrade IMHO than sidegrade, unless you're all about the bass. The 880 should complement the 990's well. Get a 120 ohm adapter if you can, does wonders for the DT880.. if not there's always the EQ.

I'm not interested in the new 880 or 990 at all, since I think they're both pretty butt-ugly.

I don't think I'm really "all about the bass"... in fact, the fact that the highs on the DT770-80's aren't really doing it for me is the reason I'm steering towards the 880's.

I've got through tomorrow (Thursday) to decide if I want to take the DT770-80's back for a full refund, that way I don't have to worry about losing any money selling them (shipping, paypal fees, etc.)
