Is this a good idea? I don't see my self needing this length of cable. I am thinking of re-terminating the cable and actually I am thinking of going for an angled jack. What are your opinions?

Am I better off buying a second shorter one ?

I'd sell it and buy a shorter one, with Hart Cables or Audiophileninja they'd be about the same, Youkamoo makes affordable ones too, just not as nice. It'll devalue it if you sell it down the road. Winding it into a loose circle at the base will shorten it up too.

Sounds like a nice opportunity to build yourself a new one with better materials.

When you cut it you’ll see how very very thin gauge the cable actually is. It came as a shock to me.
