The Dreadful oxidation

Guys,
 
I just bought an IC 2 months ago. However, I saw that the copper inside turns black.

 Asking around, I realized that oxidation happens inside. What affects oxidation and what can I do to reduce the oxidation? A better IC or choose non-copper IC?
