The D2000 and the HD25-1, how do they compare??

Is the D2000 considered an upgrade from the HD25-1?? How does it compare to the ESW9 and the HFI-780??

I had the HD-25 upgraded with the Equinox cable and I have the D2000. In my opinion the D2000 is superior than the HD-25 even in the stock version. The sound presentation is more open and big. The bass is deeper and the overall sound is more musical.
In regards of comfort the D2000 are way better than the HD-25.

I just got my D2000 back from Apuresound today with the new V3 cable and Furutech plug. I am going to perform the Markl mods on them and see how much more they improve.

If you are thinking in buying one of these two and you are not going to use them for portable then I would go with the D2000.
