Has anyone compared the 3 offerings from Rio (Nitrus), Creative (Muvo2), and iRiver at 1.5 GB?

I have the Nitrus and can say it is quite fantastic. Its much smaller and lighter than any HD player, even the iPod 3 and can hold around 350 songs encoded with LAME APS. It is an ideal "on the go" MP3 player.

I would like to know how it compares to the iRiver player, which looks very cool, and the Creative Muvo2 - which looks not so cool, (being a Zen Xtra owner myself), but probably sounds the best of the 3.

Are any other companies coming out with these? They seem destined to replace the flash players on the market, unless flash memory prices start dropping faster (512 SD card still costs $150).

i havnt try the other two, but my friend owns a iGP

personally i dont really think iGP's worth it. i mean it's got lot of features (most of iHP's features, but not all). one of its downside is no DataBase, only file tree browsing.
anothing thing is it's size, at only 1.5gig, its wider and thicker then my iHP-120... at that 1.5gig i can really go for a Nitrus

may people may like iGP because of it's large LCD display, but let me warn u first, it's display looks like iHP's, but it's not! it has same overall layout but if you look carfully if you notice iHP's LCD has different shades of darkness (black, dark gray, gray, light gray, and none).. iGP does not..
it's really no biggy, but i felt disappointed when i saw the iGP

I have looked at the IGP in person and looked the Muvo2 via its specs only. I now own a Nitrus.

Considering the price point and memory size, 1.5GB HD players seem to be most appropriate when you want something smaller than the IPOD/IHP/KARMA players. A little smaller than the IPOD seems insufficient. The IGP is too large. The Muvo2 is almost small enough. I think the Rio Nitrus has the right combination of small pocketable size and long battery life.

The IGP includes an FM tuner (ignore what www.best.buy says). The Muvo2 includes a replaceable battery and wired FM remote option (hard to find and expensive).

The positives of the Nitrus include the small size, the rounded shape, the easy to use button setup (need smaller fingers), the excellent hold switch options (allow volume and play/pause with hold), the bookmarking features (good for long selections and for audio books), good equalizer, the flexible menu settings.

The negatives of the Nitrus include the very small volume buttons (no issue for me), no built-in playlist editor, and no sleep timer.

Even though I have a number of MP3 players, I wanted a player that would be small and good for audio books. The $120 price at Buy.com was too attractive (with rebates). I had bought one at list price when they first arrived, but $300 was a good price, so it got returned.

IpaqMan, iGP does not have any recording feature... it does however, have a built-in FM tuner

Sorry about that error on the voice recorder. I was copying from http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....9&type=product

The FM tuner seems more useful than a voice recorder.

BTW, another BIG PLUS for the Nitrus is its very light weight of about 2.0 ounces. The IGP weighs about 4 oz and the Muvo2 weighs 3.2 oz. Two ounces is flash player weight.

I can't try it out after I give it to her? eh? I didn't mean before..

Muvo2 is sealed in a blister pack anyway. Not a chance in hell to repackage one of them.
