I would need a bit of help please, I'm new to this...
Currently on Massdrop: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/teac-ai-301da-integrated-amplifier-with-usb-dac
I only have a portable OPPO HA-2SE and want to get a kit for home.
I was wondering if this was a good deal, or even a good product?
I currently own a pair of HD 598SE and OPPO PM-3's also in the mail a pair of 6XX from Massdrop.
I listen mostly to Rock and classic rock , Alt and so on. (Don't know if this makes a difference...)
I currently play my music from Tidal (HIFI)

If this is not a good bang for the buck, i'm ready to listen.
I am ready to spend a bit more to get a kit that will do it all, meaning if I upgrade Headphones, I will be ok with the AMP/DAC for a while.

Thank you!!

James

Looks like a good deal to me. It seems to be a speaker and headphone amp with a dac built in as well. It seems to be very versatile and the measurements look good but I don't know how it sounds. I'd say go for it, I don't immediately see a reason not to get one

Thanks for the response!
Are you aware if Amp/Dac combos are the way to go, or individual units is a better way to operate?
I was also looking at some Shiit units, the tube amps are also pleasing to the eye.

All combos aren't better than all individual units and vice versa. It's just a matter of desk space and versatility. My Jotunheim is a combo and has a ton of inputs and outputs, which makes it even more versatile that some individual units... But it would be hard to upgrade without selling the unit as a whole.

As for the Schiit stuff, their tube amps are known to sound pretty close to solid state amps. If you want a really noticeable "tube sound" then I'd look elsewhere. They do look nice though. I think anything from Schiit's lineup is very good for the money
