More than likely, the gain is 10. Since my normal gain for amps with no crossfeed driving HD-580s is 5, g=10 is a 6 dB jump, which neatly offsets the crossfeed loss.

I really need to re-test attenuation with this circuit, since I only took a few samples to arrive at that 6-10 dB range.... I don't understand what's going on nearly as well as I should.

I like teflon and one practical use teflon has is it will keep moisture out and thus keep the wire from Oxidizing over time.
