I was just sitting here with DT990 pads on my Sundara, it wasn't THAT bad, I never knew the Sundara truly had an expansive soundstage, such hot treble or such intense detail. But all and all it was crap just like the $10 HE400 velours on the Sundara(big surprise) and the Focuspad-A on the Sundara. The Focuspad-A wasn't ALL bad, but it was forgettable enough that I'm not going to mention it, just, no. The Sundara's sound is clearly a product of fine tuning heavily involving the pads and sure sometimes I wish it had more bass but it's pretty perfect with it's flaws so I will leave it alone until I get my DT1990 dekoni pads and try them on it just to be sure they are worse than Palipads.... really wishing I had gotten a second set of palipads instead of Focuspad-A right now, not sure what I will do with them since unlike the $10 velours they are glued to the plastic bit... maybe a degluing is in their future to do more experiments on my DT1990 and DT990.

But now I have a ****ing great DT990 and it only cost me $10. I dare say if you own a DT990 especially a 600 ohm version, goto Hifimans website right ****ing now and purchase $10 HE400 velour pads.

The damn things fix every problem, that tiny bit of fabric on the inside, tones down the treble from hurt to perfect, something about them moves up the mid response to about neutral... and best of all the BASS, oh my, it's near perfect in response, don't get me wrong it's not somehow magically planar quick but wow. The sub bass and all parts of the bass showed up to the party and the firmer pads transfer more movement which lets you really feel the punch the soft OEM pads just don't deliver. The soundstage has been reduced a bit but who cares it's hella worth it, the best part may be the pads are slightly bigger so they are very easily OVER your ears not touching it... The imaging is better, which is saying a lot it's a damn beyer, the resolution even seems better and the detail is good as ever it was, I mean I won't claim it's great or even good in the grand scheme we know what these things are.

Seriously if you have DT990's order these $10 ****ing pads, what the **** do you have to lose, tell me I am wrong, tell me it sucks. Please I want someone to prove me wrong, I was convinced the DT1990 was better in every single way but **** these are good and are a nice step down to a more neutral top end and mid range with stronger bass, nice soundstage and more of all easy to listen to for ****ing once, non fatigue V shaped bass heaven here I god damn come.

If you told me these were $300 I would buy them and I am a cheap god damn person they are ****ing G O O D
