Just saying hi as I'm in the hudson valley, too, assuming NY.

I use a headless and fanless mini PC for streaming, and I remote in from my main computer. That setup is not for everyone but ideal for my use.

Sotm sms-200 neo. It is usb out, very versatile, and not raspberry pi based. It will give you high quality results.

And its 500 bucks. You can add a lps to it later on for another 500 bucks, but you dont need that to get started.

Check out the reviews that hans beekhuzen did on youtube about the sotm devices.

I also use a $100 Windows 11 mini PC with JRiver and go to streaming websites like BandCamp and
Stage + and for watching concerts on Blue-Ray
The Qobuz website has the same SQ output as the Connect app sim BluOS won’t have the Obuz Connect app for six months or whenever

Its really hard to beat the Cambridge MXN10 at that price point. Watch the Cambridge eBay store, and you can find an open-box or refurbished model for well under your target price. Everything I have bought from their eBay store has been in perfect condition.

What dac are you intending to hook the streamer to? Or do you want a streamer with a built in dac? Its kind of hard to make suggestions without knowing this. For example I wouldnt suggest a 500 dollar streamer for a 200 dollar dac.

The wiim ultra has a very good dac you can still use the Luxsin X9 dac it has awesome software with support for most streaming services. Would suggest reading reviews on it there are tons of them. Plus can buy from Amazon with free return. They also have a great forum if need help.

Update:

My brother owns the Matrix Mini-i Pro 3. He has moved on from this piece of gear. He is going to gift it my way.

If I were to purchase the Luxsin X9, this is a DAC/AMP combo, how would I connect the two units to use the Mini only as a streamer?

Sorry for the seriously noobish question; I'm learning.

Thanks
