Hello. I got my Dt770's back in October and they've been running fine since than. Though i've noticed in the past couple of days, I've got a slight staticy sound in the right ear phone every now and then. Anyone have any idea what that is? I'm using an X-Fi Xm.

Any metal touching your soundcard? I know when other wires hit my soundcard it makes a buzzing noise in my headphones.

No. None at all. I just checked. It only seems to happen when someone is talking to me in ventrilo, and at certain parts of Hl2 based games.

Microphonic tube (right channel driver) - clean tube pins - might help. Clean card slot and connectors.

Right channel connector somewhere is not making a good connection - check by reversing cables (first at source then at amp input, and if this doesn't reverse the noise channel then it is in the headphone or its connector at the amp or at the right phone input).

Let me guess, it happens on deep bass notes and loud transients?

It could be a stray hair hitting the driver. Take off the earpad and the foam layer and make sure that there are no hairs sticking out of the driver or the foam layer. This is a common issue with DT-770's.
