My 353X has RCA and XLR inputs and a switch to go from one to the other.

But when I hook up an XLR source and an RCA source (and set the switch to RCA) I have almost no gain through the RCA inputs if the XLR inputs are also plugged in.

If I unplug the XLR cables then the RCA has normal gain.

Is this normal? If so, bummer. I was really hoping to be able to plug in two source into my amp.

An owner's manual (it's same for 353X) states following:

The RCA Input cannot be used at the same time XLR Input. Be sure to remove the cable not being used.

So yes, it is normal behaviour.
