Stax SR-007A earpad orientation

Seam to the front is standard. My preference is with the seam at 45deg to the top. This way the pad has a tighter seal the back-bottom part (if that makes any sense).
I prefer this 45deg orientation as well for the cables, instead of strait down, 45deg forwards.

👍🏻
My preference is 45deg orientation down tilt for better seal and cables 45deg uptilt instead of straight down

Point the seam roughly at your temple. This way the fat part of the pad is somewhere between on the bottom and at the back. The headphones should fit flush and there shouldn't be any gaps. Also you can bend the headband as much as you want to get a better seal.
