Is there any damage that could occur to a Headroom Balanced Max Amplifier by placing a laptop computer directly ontop of it? I have a small Kitchen mat placed in between both units? I am asking this question becuase I am running out of space in my apartment to put audio equipment. This placement is my only alternative right now. Thanks Scottsmrnyc

Sorry, I forgot to add that I will not be running both units at the same time! Scottsmrnyc

I would imagine not. Though the Max has a transformer in it, right? That may cause havoc with magnetic media, but don't quote me on that.

Get a couple of wood pen stock blocks and put under the laptop as stand-offs between the amp and the computer. This would allow breathing room and a flatter surface for the computer since I think the Max is rounded. These can be found at a local wooding working center.

Anything your comfortable with will work just fine.

Very minor potential to do things like have a little interference.

And you could run 'em at the same time no problem.
