Anyone else a fan of this cd? I listen to 95% classical music, haven't bought a 'rock n' roll' or 'pop' album in years and years. But I really like this.

If there are any SW fans out here, are any of their other albums this good?

heh, this is really an under-appreciated album. Really good from start to finish, every track. Definitely in my top 50 albums.

As for their other albums, "Whither Blister Burn + Peel" was pretty popular for "Shame" and "What Do I Have To Do?" though the rest of the album isn't quite as good. "Ungod" was decent as well, though their last self-titled album was a very different & pop sounding record. Might want to look into "Ungod" and "Whither...".

It's too bad they're not around anymore.

Yep. This has to be one of the most AGGRO sounding CDs I've ever heard. I first heard the song "Save Yourself" and though "Oh my GOD, that guy sounds angry" lol and the whole CD has this whole pumping, driving feeling. The singer said it's a CD based on 4 stages of breaking up. I can't remember them all, but one is obviously anger haha. Very dark and brooding. Save Yourself is fun and easy to play on guitar too

I love "The Thing I Hate" (that crescendo near the end! wow!) and that little 'aside' moment in "Haunting Me" is great. And "Waking Up Beside You" is very... um obsessive? haha Hell, I love the whole CD. This album was a saver about 8 years ago

I've been a big fan of Stabbing Westward since Wither Blister Burn & Peel.

Darkest Days is my favorite cd of theirs followed closely by WBBP. DD is their slowest and most deppressing CD. WBBP is similar, but much faster paced. It is more angry then DD, which can sometimes be good.

Ungod is a decent CD but I don't like it as much as the others. Each track seems longer with some being over 7 minutes, there is a lot of trance/techno influences in this CD.

Stabbing Westwards is kind of a dissapointment, as I thought it was going to be an extension of DD. It is the most upbeat and poppy of their albums, with a few stand outs but overall not that great of a CD.

I would highly recommend buying Wither Blister Burn & Peel, and having a listen to the other 2.
