I justified a Nuforce Icon mobile on the grounds that I use it as a DAC from my laptop (sometimes feeding a Little Dot I+). But I almost never use it as amp only, probably because I use easy-to-drive, low-end iems (re2 and ne7m) for portable.

I think you'll like the RE2s, especially at their present price. Lots more practical for portable than the open Grados, although you should not expect that RE2 gives great isolation.
