Has anyone tried a MPD AP20U?
It's a CD-RW USB drive and MP3 player, and if I understood correctly, it will play MP3s from a DVD-ROM.
How's the sound quality as a MP3 player? Does it have any sort of directory navigation if you've got a DVD full of MP3s?
