Sony MDR-10R Impressions Thread

Even the slimmest jacks will not fit the MDR-10R's proprietary diameter hole. I bought a replacement cable made for Beats headphones; they have pretty much the slimmest jack on the market while also having an inline remote, and they still don't fit. The MDR-10R's headphone jack diameter is 5.5 mm, while the Beat's cable is 6 mm in diameter.
With an outer diameter of about 5.1mm, I am happy to report that Apple’s Lightning to 3.5mm cable fits in the MDR-10R’s recessed jack, with plenty of room to spare. It does not have an inline remote, however.

To reiterate, the MDR-10R's recessed jack has an internal diameter of 5.5mm.

Edit: Belkin makes a cable similar in appearance to Apple's that's slightly cheaper and 2m long, but it does not fit as it has an outer diameter of 5.8mm.
