i've got a iriver ihp-140 and i've just been offered to swap mine for a sony hd1

now most of my music is in mp3 and i would have to convert them to the adtrc format to listin to them.

in terms of portability i guess sony wins hands down, but how about in terms of sound quality? i plan on using them with my apple in ears and my er-6

btw sony dosn't come with a remote

You can pay a small fee ( I think around $20) to have the HD1 upgraded to play MP3's, which I reckon is worth it.

I almost prefer sony's SQ, but I'm sure others think a different way to me.

Before buying my Zen Micro, I looked into the Sony HD1. I was totally unimpressed with all of the reviews. They feel nice in the hand, and look decent, but from a player friendly standpoint, it appears the HD1 misses the mark.

No personal experience here other than playing with one in the store - just information I gathered from my research.

If it supported syncing with WMP10 or drag and drop, and had better navigation I would have got it a long time ago. But it doesn't. The navigation is awful, and please don't get me started with sonicstage (after having a net md for 2 years, I had had enough).
