OK, this comparison is kind of a joke, but I wanted to go back and see if the PCDP that's been gathering dust was really that bad. It is, every disk I've tried tonight has gone in the CJ for about a minute, and quickly come out again. Blah, ick, and why did I ever buy this POS??? So much for 256 kbps mp3 being equal, when even Redbook quality sucks... The only good thing I can say is that this has shown me that there are substantial gains with even moderately better sources. The CJ is dull, flat, and completely uninvolving; the D-25 is an order of magnitude better on dynamics, resolution, and range.

The D-555 should be even better... for the record I don't care that much about portable, luggable is more what I'm after.
