Hi

I was looking for a portable CD player, not for walking on the street, but for easily move on my home. I have an old Sony D-20 discman, with a great layer of dust (12 years abandoned and without use).

Do you think I must buy a new portable discman to get a better sound? Or maybe the sound of the new units doesn't beat the old ones?

That depends on what you want to do with it. If this is going to be a stationary system the 20 would be ok but you would be better served sonically with a D15 or a D25. If you need mobility you need to look for something newer.
