Somewhat OT: What's the best video player?

I've only really used the DivX player and WMP, but I'm sure there's something better out there - what is it?

I like VLC player because you don't have to install any codecs. It supports just about everything.

I think bsplayer it the best player, functionality is good and it has good support for subtitles. I also use mediaplayer classic, realplayer alternative (codec for mediaplayer classic) and quicktime alternative.

I have VLC player too but i think that it doesn't have as good picture quality as direct show filters (bsplayer uses these). And I don't like VLC's interface either.

I use either WMP (out of laziness) or MPC (for Real files).

Media Player Classic is awesome, but I keep VLC around for the occasional file that just doesn't want to play in anything else.
