My computer qualifies for a free upgrade to Windows 10. After clicking the upgrade button, the "Starting download" screen shows up, but nothing happens after. I did some Google research and tried various things, but nothing worked. I know this section is technically about computer audio, but I figured there would be people here who could help me out.
Now there is no sound! I need advice on getting the audio to work.
Well that was random...Windows Update just popped up and it says it's now downloading Windows 10. I think it's because I told it to check for updates earlier today.
I experimented. Don't even recall what solved the issue now. haha. But I think it involved right-clicking the sound icon, then clicking playback devices and selecting Speakers (High Definition Audio Device), which is supposed to be the default anyway. I may have also uninstalled/reinstalled some stuff. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
