Smashing Pumpkins Help

I borrowed their double disc album from the Library and loved it. I was wonder besides that album what other smashing pumpkin albums should I get? I can’t afford to get them all so if you could recommend there best two or three I would really appreciate it.

Their Greatest Hits album (Rotten Apples) is a really good collection of a lot of their best songs. You should get that one if you just want a collection of their most popular stuff. However, the Smashing Pumpkins are best listened to by whole albums. The one you got from the library I assume is Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, which is my favorite. Definitely get Siamese Dream, also. If you want harder music, get Machina. More mellow, get Gish. Mellon Collie, Siamese Dream, and Machina are my favorites, although all of them are good.

Btw, don't be surprised if you absolutely fall in love with the Smashing Pumpkins and they become your favorite band.

Siamese Dream is the absolute best album made by the band and one of the few albums which I didn't regret purchasing because I've listened it from beginning to end a million times. Otherwise, I'd pick up the best of collection (Rotten Apples) mention by Music Lover.

However, here's my rating of the other albums --
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness rocks but in my opinion not as much as Siamese Dream. I only really liked 3 out of the 28 songs on the album. Machina and Adore have a harder edge to it then Siamese and Mellon Collie. Yet I liked Adore a lot better then Machina though, and maybe even more so then Mellon Collie because some of the songs seemed more personal to me. I didn't find Gish as mellow as Pisces Iscariot but they sound a bit different then the other Pumpkins albums.

I'll second/third/whatever the comments made previously about getting Rotten Apples.

Also, my next favourites are Machina and Siamese Dream; then Gish. Adore is last (IMHO).
