I seem to be in the minority when it comes to cell phones. I don't care about features - what I care about is size. That's why I liked the Nokia 8390. I've been looking for the smallest candybar GSM phone that's commercially available, and the simpler the better. I don't need a camera, bluetooth, games, hi-res display, MP3-playing, video capability, etc. Just a lil' phone. My Nokia 3560 is getting old and it's really hard to get some of the buttons to register when I press them.

Thanks for any suggestions!

haha that is small, but it looks like it's discontinued. EDIT: Hmm, they have it on Amazon from private sellers for about $75 .. do you think this phone would still work if I had a SIM card (my current phone doesn't have one)?

I like that one, but it's pretty expensive for an unlocked one (I'm seeing prices of around $300). Do you think there's anything cheaper? That one is definitely nice, though.

Thanks for the quick responses!

no, they are just phones not offered/aimed or geared to a certain market or country for various reasons...when getting an unlocked phone though you have to take some precautions (ie: does your carrier have (phone plans) compatible with the features of the "unlocked" phone/networks etc), but other than that...the main reason for unlocked phones is sometimes the phones are better than what is offered and therefore someone goes to purchase an "unlocked" phone, plus they have the freedom to choose any carrier they want and are not bind to a contract per se and so on and so forth

I have a older DualBand / TriMode TDMA version of that phone when I was subscribing thru Cingular. It's the Nokia 8260, I have since discontinued service on the 8260 in favor of a GSM phone and haven't used it in nearly 2 yrs. Most of the GSM phones that I currently own are of the unlocked variety.

i've seen it branded as one (T-Mobile) and so far that's the only company i've seen branded on that phone so far...but there might possibly be other variants i'm not too sure on that
