skip problem with d-121

I bought a d-121 and it always skip on the first two track. I wonder what can I do about it. I never open any eletronic item before, so please be detail.

Hiya...

You may not need to open up the player...

Remove internal batteries, and plug in the mains adapter... play the last track of a full sized (74 minute plus CD) and then without pressing stop, pull out the mains cable, so that the lens is at the far end of the pickup...

then look at the thread inside the player, where the laser assembly is... see any lumps of gunk that shouldn't be there? - whether or not... get some lithium grease, or similar grade goo, and smear a small amount of it at the motor end of the thread... then re-insert the power (batteries or mains) and then run the player 10-20 times on track access from track 1 to the last track on your disc... and then play from track 1, and see if things are better

Hardware store should have it.

After greasing and running it as Duncan suggest, you may want to go back in and remove any excess grease.
