Hi,

I am interested in adding a little silver to my system but don't want to lose the warm copper charm. Frank at Signal Cable developed a reasonably priced cable that has both types of metals (i.e., contains 4 stranded silver conductors and 8 solid-core bare copper conductors) which has caught my attention. I own one of his magic power cords and am happy with the quality of his products. But I would like to know the sound characteristics of this cable.

I searched this forum and found little on this wire. Does anyone have or had this cable, and if so, what are your impressions?

Thanks for your help.

Alright . . gotta bump this . . .but maybe I have to expand the question a little since the response to my initial inquiry was nil.

How about this . . can anyone recommend a speaker cable wire (or bi-wire in my case) that has both silver and copper in its construction or at least sounds like it? If so, how much would it run me in terms of cost for six foot runs? Frank's silver resolution cables cost about $310 which is a pretty good deal.

Now lets see if I get any bites . . . .

warm copper charm sounds like gross bloat, lack of defination, and excessive coloration to me. My experience has taught me to use silver cables whenever possible then work on source/amp to tone down brightness. I don't like using solid-state amps usually, however, I do find they are fine or even better off with copper cables. I don't like the idea of mixing the metals either... they probably transmit signals at different speeds, imagine the effect that must have on the sound.

I use all silver cables with all tube amplification and I don't think there is any better combination.

I use the cheapest solid silver wire speaker cable I could find. I got it on e-bay. It is 99.8% pure. Works for me.
