Hello all:
I found these forums while researching some headphones for use at home (I have a pair of Shure SE115 for my ipod). I ended up purchasing the AT-AD700, which were rated well for the price point.
I'd like to get your opinions on my setup, to ensure I was getting the most out of it.
My equipment and connections:
PC --> Realtek889 -->optical cable--> Marantz sr7000-->AT-AD700
Is this the ideal setup, or should I be using analog out to my receiver?
Another question I have is regarding WIndows 7 and the Realtek drivers. I can't seem to find a digital audio passthrough or SPDIF out setting, as I would prefer the Marantz to do all of the heavy lifting. Right now, I can adjust the volume/EQ through the realtek control panel as well as the windows volume control. Since I am using optical output, shouldn't those be disabled? Is that a function of the realtek driver?
Thanks for in advance for any comments or feedback.
