I just got back from a biz trip to London. My company is gracious enough to fly me Business Class, and on the way there I got bumped up to First Class. American Airlines gives out Bose QC2's to First/Business Class passengers. I had my PXC-250's with me, so I couldn't help but do a bit of comparing while in flight.

I think the Bose did a better job than my Senn's when it comes to the noise cancellation part. I could hear less of the airplane humm with the Bose than with the Senn's, and the Senn's give off a noticeable hiss when the noise cancellation is engaged.

But I think the Senn's are a much better sounding headphone. Much more dynamic than the Bose, a wider stage, and a punchier sound.

On the way home, I turned down the QC2's and stuck with my Senn's.

Anyone else ever do in-flight noise cancellation comparisons?

Yes, I've compared the two and agree with your observation. I bought the PXC-250s and the PXC-300s. The Bose has some metalic coloration right through the midrange which I could not stand in the long run. They did attenuate ambient noise better than the Sennys, but the Sennys sound so much better, I went with them.

How do you compare the 250s to the 300s?

The 300s sound ever so slightly better than the 350s.

Only you can decide if the difference in sound is worth the difference in price.

For me, it is.
Slightly better noise isolation, sweeter highs, balanced mids, tighter and lower bass.

Well, considering I paid $65 for the 250's, I'm going to stick with them

Thanks for the info.
