My pair of IE80s is having an issue whereby the volume on the right earbud is quite noticeably lower than on the right one (especially noticeable with vocals and high frequencies, low frequencies don't seem as impacted).
As they are still under warranty (18 months old) but they have a lead time of 1-2 months for delivering a new pair, Amazon are offering either an exchange within 2 months or a full refund.
I have been quite happy with the IE80s so the exchange works for me (the wait is bit annoying but I don't think the price I got at the time can be easily found today), but is there anything similar but better I could get for the 208 euros I would get from the refund? I am pretty happy with their sound signature and am mostly using them straight out of an iPhone 6. I could go for a little less bass but definitely not more, and I don't like IEMs which go too deep inside the ears as it causes me discomfort. I am also happy with the level of sound isolation I find it is a good compromise between filtering out the most annoying outside noise and letting some of it go through to still be aware of my surroundings (I mostly use them walking around the city and sometimes on the bus).
Also, I had bough from Amazon.de and I see none of the European Amazon websites have them is stock and they all have fairly long delivery estimates. Is there any sign of a new version coming soon?
