Sennheiser HD580 and HD600 drivers the same... Are you sure??

I believe that the 580 Jubilees are the same as the 600 in construction: metal grills, carbon-fiber bales, matched drivers, but with 580 cosmetics.

I think that matching drivers will add cost because, at the very least, you have to pay someone to sit there and find matching drivers!

Lini: I was thinking the same thing until I got to your post.. what if Sennheiser driver "yields" are so good (which they should be after making those drivers for years), that they _all_ match within .05db?

Then again, it's unlikely.. Most likely, since not all drivers are within .05 db of all the other drivers, finding pairs of drivers that match within .05db is what adds cost.. Most likely one set of HD600's isn't matched to within .05db to another set.

My ears sure arent matched to 0.05dB. I believe I've read somewhere that humans cannot distinguish difference of 0.5dB between drivers, so even HD-580 are below that threshold.
