So I plan on getting a Sennheiser Game One headset and a Fiio A3 amp for PS4 use. Would this setup be ok? I play from the couch and i need something portable. Also if this setup is fine what wires would I need other than a splitter cable for the mic and audio?

Are you hoping to still use the mic?
I dont have either a ps4 nor a game one, but if the game one runs the mic inline (one cable) the a3 will not pass the mic signals through. Would you also be getting the audio from the ps4 controller or the console?

If the game one has two cables or splits into one for mic (usb ?) and one 3.5 mm plug, then you would just need a 3.5 to 3.5 which I believe is included with the a3.

The Game One headset has a mic and audio cable. Also I plan on using the PS4 controller for sound.

Ok. So for a 3.5mm out, no mic inline and no control needed because your mic is independent, the a5 is a very viable choice for passive phones. But, does the game one have its own power? It takes batteries? If so, Im wondering if you dont need the a5 afterall? If the game one provides its power (is it self amplified?) then the a5 is a non factor. I have searched for sensitivity specs for the game one and for whatever reason cant find them. Seems like its self amped??

So you stick the mic into the usb and the 3.5mm audio into the controller and you're set???

You can consider Sound Blaster G5 from Creative. It is designed for both gaming and audio. It able to enhance the surround and it have mic input as well. A better choice as compared to Fiio A3. If budget allowed, GSX1000 will be a good choice too :)

+1 and I'll also throw in the Mayflower ARC for consideration along those lines.
