Hear Muffs came in 2 models, stereo and quadraphonic (4-channel). They are basically headphones encased in foam with a removable washable cover. They boasted marketing like – “Hear Muffs. The first headphones you wouldn’t kick out of bed.” and “Lying down with headphones on your head is like kissing a girl with braces on her teeth.” Although they lasted 5 years or so on the market, they are very rare. Hear Muffs were the invention of Stephen Hanson of Downers Grove, Illinois.
