The Schiit Modi+ DAC isn't compatible with the Samsung S23 for some unknown reason. The Modi+ worked just fine with my Samsung S20, but when I try to stream audio (YouTube Music, Amazon Music) or stream videos (Amazon Video), it initially plays perfect audio for maybe 10 minutes or so. Then the sound suddenly turns metallic, screechy, tinny for about 10-15 seconds. Then it goes back to normal. It will do this several times an hour. Randomly. It makes no difference if I pause the tracks or videos, change tracks, or change volume. It will sound horrible for 10-15 seconds and then go back to normal.
My S23 has no issues with my CX-PRO DAC.
I've spoken with Schiit customer service and they suggested I connect via an OTG cable, rather than with USB-C. I bought an OTG cable but no luck. It makes absolutely no difference. Also, my DAC is plugged into the wall, so that's not the issue either.
Does anybody else own an S23 phone that is experiencing similar issues with their DAC?
