Hi! I've been doing research for weeks, and I'm still confused. I know that I am going to buy Creative Sound Blaster Z, but I'm not sure about Samson SR950. I'm going to use them for gaming, and maybe a little bit for music. Are they better than Razer Kraken I have right now? Any other good options? My budget is 150€ - the soundcard(84€), so about max 70. The cheaper the better. Thanks!

I just picked up a set of the Samson SR850's the other day from my local Sam Ash. I have tried my bud's Krakens and can say the SR850's sound much better, maybe a bit less thump. The lack of bass is fixed with a little EQ. For what its worth I also have the Sound Blaster Z, which is a great sound card.
 
Sam Ash also had the SR950's and I almost picked up a pair, but didn't. I would assume the 950's would have a smaller sound stage due to the closed back design, but perhaps more bass?
 
On a side note; my SR850's came with velour ear pads instead of pleather. Must be a design change?

Grandagony Thanks for quick answer! I think I will pick up SR950's. Can anyone say anything about Superlux HD681 Evo? I've heard that those are pretty nice headphones too.
