Optional Background: I'm kinda a moderate audiophile. I use headphones all day at work so they're important to me. I loved my Bose QC 25's until I upgraded to the superb QC 30's so I could easily put on and take off my VR headset without hassling with my headphones (I'm a developer, so it happens 300 times a day). I'm not deep enough to talk about sound profiles or audio range or anything like that, but I have a Fulla Schiit DAC that I love for when I'm wired. Subjectively, I can really tell the difference in how much sound it opens up and clarifies.

However, I need to find a pair of headphones for my mom this time. Her neighbors have several roosters. She HATES them and their incessant ****-a-doodle-dooing. I am concerned one day she will get sick of the squawking and roast them and eat them (the neighbors, not the roosters). She does a lot of work outside in the garden and yard, and wears headphones (probably turned up too loud) to block out the roosters. It works really well but the cord gets in the way when she's working. She wants to upgrade to a wireless setup.

Her music comes from her iPhone 5s, so that means Bluetooth.

From what I understand, active canceling won't work well against the high pitched bird noises of the foul fowl next door. That means excellent passive canceling is tantamount, though active canceling wouldn't be unwelcome.

She doesn't like monitors, so that rules out another set of QC 30's, and leaves us with over-the-ear headphones.

Sub-$250 would be nice, but we could go higher for better rooster-canceling.

I can't seem to find many reviews of Bluetooth headphones that are concerned with passive canceling, so I've come to you for advice on my weird combination of required features.

TL;DR:
  1. Mom hates roosters.
  2. Bluetooth only
  3. Excellent Passive Canceling
  4. Over-the-ear

The Audio Technica ATH-S700BT SonicFuel headphone is reported to have good noise isolation. I have not personally heard it, so I cannot guarantee the strength of its potential anti-rooster capabilities. Might be worth putting on the list, though.
