Hi guys , I’m a total noob , but I’m about to order the HD800s , and the audio equipment I own already is simply the Roksan Attessa streaming amp, with my Roksan fr5 floor standing speakers, and an iPad Pro I use as the interface for tidal connect .
All I need to know , is will the headphone jack on the Roksan (it does have 3 gain settings) do the hd800s justice? Or do I need to invest in a dedicated headphone amp?
At what sort of price point would a headphone amp start to outperform the Roksan?
Also what would be a good portable solution for just the iPad Pro and hd800s if I’m on trips or away from home? Or even just want to listen in bed at night?

I've had them a few times. I have a Topping G5 which is portable, plenty of power, and 120 SINAD it's as good as high end stacks. On medium gain with the HD800S I got 5.5 to 6 hours of playback time. You can use RCA to 3.5mm to connect, USB from the computer or phone, or Bluetooth.
