Hey guys, sorry if this has been covered already but I couldn't find any info in the rockbox/ipod threads I found.

I basically just want to know if it's possible to load my 18 GB of v0 mp3s onto my rockboxed ipod and be able to access the songs with both the Apple firmware and the Rockbox firmware.

Reason being, I have a line out in my car that interfaces with the Apple firmware to let me control the ipod from my deck and I don't want to lose that. Rockbox would be used everywhere else besides the car.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Sorry, and if it is possible, do I just sync with iTunes? I tried that once but couldn't find those files to play when I loaded Rockbox...

NM

Didn't realize that's what the Database updater was for.

When installing Rockbox on an iPod you also get a boot loader, where you can choose to start either Rockbox or the Apple firmware.
Regarding audio files. The Apple firmware store its playlists in a database, which are updated when syncing through iTunes. Files added outside iTunes will not be picked up by the Apple firmware. Rockbox will see all files though.

Yeah I didn't realize that at first. So I just sync with iTunes, then when I load rockbox just update the database and it syncs from what iTunes has.

Before I was just dragging and dropping files on in explorer

Why delete?
I am sure someone else at a later stage wonder about the same thing. Then search and find this thread, instead of needing to post a new thread.

True, changed the title back. You're so wise.
