I'm using "attach files" like always, then selecting my pics. It uploads them but only rarely does it list the option to insert them as thumbnail or full size. Usually I have to then click on the file which opens the pic in a new tab. Then I copy that link, then back to my post to use "insert image" and paste it in. Very cumbersome and it would be much easier if I could just click "insert thumbnail" like I used to.

I can find no reason as to why that single picture works and the rest don't. It is neither the largest nor the smallest file, so that's not the issue.

This is what you'll see when images are either too large in file size or dimension, and the good news is it's a fairly simple fix. In order to embed images in a post, the image can be no larger than 5000px in either direction and must be smaller than 10MB in size. Most likely what you're experiencing is the result of the former.

Thanks, that's probably it - I notice that one pic is just shy of 5000px whilst the others are all 6000... which is odd as they all started the same size and processed the same way in Lightroom. But whatever, I'll set 5000 as the max and that should take care of it from now on. Thanks so much!

It catches me from time to time too. I'll export and forget to check the box to set the size max, and have to export again a couple minutes later. You're not alone in seeing the blue file graphic now and then.

I'm probably just being dumb, but the only thing I recall ever seeing was the 10MB limitation. So I've been scaling down by file size, and still not getting a workable result. Never thought about it in terms of pixels. So that's extremely helpful, thanks again!
