Replacement earpads, can I just reuse the frame for universal pads to the locking mech?

Hello friends I hope this is the right forum, if not feel free to move it!

I have replaced earpads on my Ultrasone Pro 900 at least once, but they keep loosening in the same corners near the locking ring.

I'm not exactly the crafty or handy guy. Only because these keep breaking/loosening in the corners am I now considering getting something else.

What the easiest way to solve it?

Could I just get some universal earpads and glue the backside to the frame?

If you use glue, the best way is to apply Loctite gel using the head of a pin for a tiny spot. This way you can remove them in the future with just a little force to pop them free. That stuff will hold even under vibration, but a tiny dot is all it takes. Otherwise they'll be permanently welded on, I just do one or two dots on anything. Scotch double sided tape is extremely sticky also if you have some. It's a pain to remove without Goo Gone, but it's holds great in places you don't want to use glue (superglue melts plastic for a bond most times if you use too much).

Any good brands of pads? I only know Dekoni off my mind. Do they all install with glue like this? Thanks!

I order from EU, usually I look at

https://audiophonics.fr and https://hifi-passion.de

but for pads I figure even aliexpress could work.

If you print a ruler and measure the inside and outside diameter, then shop for similar material as original or you'll change the sound too much (usually for the worse). When on Aliexpress I use the carpet bomb approach and get five sets of $5-$7 pads to keep track of them and maybe find a winner. If you have velour, stick with it. Here's some that look like your size:

Some people have tried leather/pleather type, might be worth a try at these prices. I have a box of pads in the closet I call "the box of pad fails" but at least it wasn't expensive to experiment pad rolling.
